Therapists Accepting New Clients in Maryland: Meet Our Available Therapists

Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit can be difficult. Finding the right therapist who also has availability, works with your concerns, and accepts your insurance can make the process feel even more overwhelming.

At Rose Wellness Counseling, we want to make finding a therapist in Maryland a little easier.

We are a fully virtual therapy practice serving clients throughout Maryland, and several of our therapists are currently accepting new clients for online therapy. Our team works with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, ADHD, relationship concerns, substance use, grief, LGBTQIA+ concerns, life transitions, postpartum adjustment, serious mental illness, and many other mental health concerns.

If you're looking for an online therapist in Maryland who is accepting new clients, meet some of our currently available therapists below.

Sophia Cyriacks, LMSW

Therapy for Teens and Adults in Maryland

Sophia Cyriacks, LMSW, works with adolescents ages 14 and older and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns.

Sophia may be an especially good fit for clients looking for support with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, substance use, dual diagnoses, or the experience of growing up with alcoholism or addiction in the family.

She also has experience working with individuals living with psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder.

Sophia's therapeutic approaches include psychodynamic therapy, trauma therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy and self-parenting work, and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

When appropriate and with a client's consent, Sophia is also willing to collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, and other members of a client's healthcare team. This can be particularly valuable for clients whose treatment includes both psychotherapy and medication management.

Sophia works with clients Monday through Thursday between 10 AM and 7 PM and Fridays between 12 PM and 5 PM.

She also offers a free 15-minute phone consultation for prospective clients.

Sophia accepts CareFirst, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Cigna.

If you're searching for a teen therapist in Maryland, trauma therapist, substance use therapist, or therapist experienced in working with more complex mental health concerns, Sophia may be a great person to consider.

Lindsay Smith, LCPC

Therapy for Anxiety, OCD, Relationships, ADHD, and Life Transitions

Lindsay Smith, LCPC, works with adults ages 20 and older and offers a versatile approach to therapy for clients navigating both specific mental health concerns and the challenges that come with relationships and everyday life.

Her specialties include anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma and PTSD, grief, anger management, self-esteem, relationship and marriage concerns, family conflict, social relationships, and major life transitions.

Lindsay integrates several evidence-based and person-centered approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, strength-based therapy, and person-centered therapy.

Her broad range of specialties may make her a particularly good fit for someone who doesn't feel that their concerns fit neatly into one category.

Maybe you're experiencing anxiety while also navigating a difficult relationship. Maybe ADHD is affecting your confidence or daily life. Maybe you're going through a transition and noticing that old patterns are suddenly becoming more difficult to ignore.

Therapy doesn't always have to focus on one diagnosis or one problem.

Lindsay currently offers appointments Monday through Thursday between 12 PM and 8 PM and Fridays between 12 PM and 6 PM, including evening availability that may work well for clients who need therapy after work.

Lindsay accepts CareFirst, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna.

Autumn Smith, LMSW

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy, ADHD, Relationships, and Religious Trauma

Autumn Smith, LMSW, works with teens and adults and specializes in areas including LGBTQIA+ concerns, ADHD, relationship issues, couples and relationship units, religious trauma, spirituality, men's issues, gender dysphoria, and life transitions.

Her approach incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed care.

Autumn may be an especially good fit for clients looking for a therapist who can create space for conversations about identity, relationships, gender, spirituality, and the ways these experiences intersect with mental health.

For clients who have experienced religious trauma or are questioning or redefining their relationship with religion and spirituality, therapy can also provide a space to explore those experiences without pressure to arrive at any particular belief or conclusion.

Autumn currently sees clients Monday through Thursday between 9 AM and 6 PM.

Autumn accepts CareFirst, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna.

If you're looking for an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist in Maryland, ADHD therapist, relationship therapist, or support around religious trauma and spiritual concerns, Autumn may be a good fit.

Jehlisa Hillocks, LMSW

Trauma, Postpartum, Parenthood, and Culturally Responsive Therapy

Jehlisa Hillocks, LMSW, works with adults ages 18 and older and brings a thoughtful, integrative approach to therapy.

Her areas of specialty include trauma, pregnancy and postpartum support, early parenthood, multigenerational living, the experiences of women of color, and Africana spirituality.

Jehlisa incorporates somatic therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, existential therapy, narrative therapy, strength-based approaches, and person-centered therapy into her work.

For clients who don't want therapy to focus exclusively on changing their thoughts, Jehlisa's integration of somatic and mindfulness-based approaches can create space to explore how emotions and experiences are also held and experienced in the body.

She may also be a particularly good fit for new parents navigating the enormous identity, relationship, and emotional changes that can accompany pregnancy, postpartum life, and early parenthood.

Jehlisa currently offers daytime appointments Tuesdays through Fridays.

Jehlisa accepts CareFirst, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna.

If you're looking for a trauma therapist in Maryland, postpartum therapist, somatic therapist, or culturally responsive therapy, Jehlisa may be someone to consider.

Kelli Miles, LMSW

Therapy for Addiction, Older Adults, LGBTQIA+ Clients, Grief, and Couples

Kelli Miles, LMSW, works with adults and couples across a wide range of life experiences.

Her specialties include substance use and addiction, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, LGBTQIA+ concerns, older adulthood, minority populations, HIV/AIDS, and couples therapy.

Kelli utilizes Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches.

Her experience may make her an especially good fit for individuals navigating recovery or substance use concerns, clients experiencing grief and significant life transitions, LGBTQIA+ clients, older adults, and people looking for a therapist who understands the ways identity, health, relationships, and mental health can intersect.

Kelli also works with couples, providing another option for Maryland clients looking for relationship support.

Through October 30, Kelli has limited biweekly Friday availability. Beginning in November, she will offer appointments Monday through Thursday between 8 AM and 3 PM.

Kelli accepts CareFirst, UnitedHealthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Cigna.

How Do I Choose the Right Therapist?

You don't need to find the therapist who looks objectively “best” on paper.

You need to find someone who feels like a good fit for you.

As you're reading therapist profiles, consider what matters most to you.

Do you want someone who specializes in a particular concern?

Would you prefer a therapist who is structured and skills-focused, or someone whose approach is more exploratory?

Are aspects of your identity, culture, spirituality, sexuality, gender, or lived experience particularly important to your therapy?

Do you need evening appointments?

Do you want to use your insurance?

And sometimes, there's an even simpler question:

Who do I feel drawn to talking to?

You don't have to completely understand therapy modalities or know exactly what kind of therapy you need before reaching out. Our team can also help you determine which Rose Wellness therapist might be a good match.

One of the benefits of choosing a virtual therapy practice is that you aren't limited to therapists located in your immediate neighborhood.
