Sarah Schieffelin

She/Her
Trauma Informed Therapist
MSEd, LGPC, CTP

From Sarah’s point of view, therapy is the process of creating a life that feels meaningful to you while dealing with pain in authentic and useful ways. She’ll warmly support you throughout the journey. When you're ready, you will begin by developing a therapeutic relationship where every aspect of you feels welcomed, even the parts that feel overwhelming or embarrassing sometimes. Sarah wants you to know that you’re connecting with her, a real person, not a blank slate. This might look like shared laughter, ongoing discussions about what feels best for you, and finding small ways to alleviate societal pressures.

Sarah would love to see the world through your ever-evolving perspective. She cares enough to let you grow at your own pace and challenge you when you’re up for it. You can meet with Sarah online or for an outdoor (walk and talk) session. She often use Person-Centered Theory, EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. That being said, Sarah believes that you deserve individualized support with flexibility.

Authenticity and humanity are two of Sarah’s values as a therapist. This includes being culturally-sensitive and disability-accommodating. Sarah knows that it’s important for her to continually reflect and grow in order to support you as you reflect and grow.

Sarah specializes in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and with people who live with chronic medical conditions. She frequently utilizes Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
